Friends Aimee and Kay, two small town teens from the American Midwest, are jettisoned against their will into a world of myth, magick and ever-present danger. There they discover that their arrival has triggered the beginnings of a global conflict that they fear is too large for them to fix alone. Now, oceans apart, the two must gather their resources, their wits, their new companions and their own resolve to find their way back to each other and the world they left behind.

Gestalt Book One eBook Hoshizora Aona

Too few fantasy authors have capitalized on the influence of Eastern mythology in contemporary Western civilization. For those who want a story that isn't about a bunch of dudes walking around and speaking fancy Welsh, I'd highly recommend Gestalt.

Firefly meets Game of Thrones, with less sex and far more humor, Gestalt reads like an episode of Supernatural with the subtle charm too often lacking in fantasy for young adults. Any teen looking for an adventure that won't talk down to them should pick this up. Then pester her to finish the next one.

I'm a little afraid to find out which beloved characters she'll kill though...

Gestalt Book One eBook Hoshizora Aona Reviews

I am absolutely in love with this book thus far, cannot wait until the second of the series. Keep at it hon! You're an amazing writer, as well as an artist!
Its easy to loose yourself in this book. The visualization is fantastic. You really feel like you are part of the story, like you are really there in their world. I've even found myself fussing at the characters audibly a few time, my dogs thought I was insane. Hoshizora Aona is now on my favorite authors list. If you like a good fantasy, this is a must read!
As fantasy books go, there are many which carry the same theme over and over again. This one, however, took a break from the 'wizard vs. wizard' and the 'good kingdom vs. evil kingdom' themes. Twisting believable characters into an unbelievable situation, this is a very good departure from the standard fantasy story. The story flows well, keeps the reader involved and tends to be a difficult book to put down. As a fantasy fan, I recommend this book. From the twists and turns to the hang at the end, this is a good book. I very much await the second installment in what promises to be a fun and well written series of books.
Awesome. It is an amazing change from the old manuscripts I read over as she began the process of becoming a published author. (I cannot begin to describe how totally awesome it is that this dream became a reality for her.)This book has got everything; action, magick, secrets and mystery, friendship and love, not to mention the amazing characters. They truly come alive there on the page, you can see them as more than fictional characters. They are truly real, as is where they reside in this book. The pictures painted with her words show you a wonderful panorama full of all the right things. You will want to revisit time and time again. If you love to read, go ahead and put this book on your list. Be warned, you will want the second installment immediately
This is not your run of the mill SFF. It's not pure Fantasy it is not exactly the Science Fiction you know. It is a mix of both. While it took me a little bit to get into the book, once I got used to the writing style I soared through it. The characters felt real to me, I felt attached, like I had a stake in the happenings. The writing had good imagery, I was able to build the world in my mind and walk through it with the characters. The plot kept moving I definitely enjoyed the little surprises speckled throughout the story. The ending came too soon, I was not ready to put it down. But, alas I will have to wait for book 2.
Anyone who enjoys reading fantasy should read this book. Fantastic characters, well described setting. It draws you in so you feel like you're a part of the story. I highly recommend this book.
This was the first book I've read in this genre. To me the book reads like a movie ... a cast of magical characters, plenty of action, lively dialog, and an array of colorful, special effects. Here in this magical world, the reader encounters changelings and warriors, swords and armor, glowing globes and hovering objects, distant mountains and dark caverns, runes and incantations, and a mystical Astrolabe all interwoven into a fast-moving plot.
